1. What is DRX9000 Decompression Therapy?

Spinal Decompression is a non-surgical and drug-free treatment for disc related injuries of the neck and lower back.  Spinal Disc Decompression uses computer-aided technology to apply gentle, non-surgical decompression to your spine, increasing circulation into the spinal discs and joints, thus helping to relieve the symptoms that cause pain.


2. How does Spinal Disc Decompression Work?

This technology relieves pain by enlarging the space between the discs. The negative
pressure of decompression releases pressure and allows the herniated and bulging disc to
eventually go back into normal position.

Normally damage to the discs seldom heal as the discs are constantly under pressure from
ones body weight and gravity. As a result the discs have a hard time healing. The
Decompression table reduces the pressure inside the discs, facilitates the transfer of fluids,
nutrients and oxygen back inside the disc resulting in the retraction of the bulging or
herniated discs.

3. Are there any side effects?

Spinal Disc Decompression has shown to be safe and without side effects or complications once abnormal conditions have been ruled out.


4. Are the treatments painful?

Absolutely not. Actually most patients fall asleep during treatment. The table is designed to
very slowing and exactly decompression the spine so there usually is no discomfort at all.


5. Is Spinal Decompression Expensive?

Actually Spinal Decompression is not as expensive as one might think.  Patients that choose financing typically have payments that can range from $50 to $150 a month. We do offer monthly no-interest payments.


6. What is the difference between decompression and traction?

Traction cannot address the source of the problem because it triggers the muscles to
contract.  Traction triggers the body's normal response to stretching by creating painful
muscle spasms that worsen the pain in affected area. This will not allow the disc material to
pull of the nerves.


7. *What Results can I Expect?

Results may differ from patient to patient based on many factors. Age, condition, length of time, and other health factors will affect results. Often times a patient experiences some relief within the first few (3-7) treatments. Usually by the 12th to 15th treatment most patients have reported some remission of symptoms. 8. What Time Commitments Are Required By Patients?

Each treatment session averages 10-25 minutes in duration. On average 20-25 treatments
is necessary for patient self-healing to occur.


9. Am I a candidate for Spinal Decompression Therapy?

Typically we do not know for sure if a patient is eligible for Spinal Decompression therapy
without examining them. After the examination and viewing either x-rays or MRI's, the doctor will then determine if the patient is a good candidate for spinal decompression therapy. Those that are accepted and complete treatment have a very high clinical success rate.

The most common types of conditions that are successfully treated with spinal
decompression therapy are (but not limited to): Disc bulges (herniations, slipped, or
bulging), sciatica (leg pain), disc disease, stenosis, arm pain, neck, and back pain.


10. Why hasn't my doctor recommended Spinal Decompression Therapy?

We have found that most Medical Doctors do refer their patients for Decompression
therapy. The ones who do not maybe haven't been informed of the benefits of this type of
therapy.


11. What conditions are contraindicated?

Patients with the following problems or symptoms are usually excluded from using the Spinal Decompression therapy: Pregnancy, Metastatic cancer, Severe osteoporosis, Compression fracture of lumbar spine below L-1, Pars defect, Aortic aneurysm, Pelvic or abdominal cancer, Disc space infections, Severe peripheral neuropathy, Hemiplegia, paraplegia, or cognitive dysfunction, Cauda Equina syndrome, Tumors, osteod osteoma, multiple myeloma, osteosarcoma, Infection, osteomyelitis, meningitis, virus, and HNP (sequestered/free floating fragment).


12. What are some of the typical symptoms of herniated discs?

A herniated lumbar disc may send pain shooting down through your buttock and thigh into
the back of your leg (sciatica). Cervical disc herniation may cause pain in the shoulder, arm, and hand. Herniated discs can cause muscle weakness, make it hard to get up when you've been sitting or lying down, cause pain when you strain to do something, even when you cough or sneeze. They sometimes produce pain in the lower right side of the abdomen.
Herniated discs may also affect nerves to the bladder and bowel, causing incontinence. This symptom signals the need for immediate, emergency attention.


13. Can someone who has had surgery be a candidate for Decompression Therapy?

Yes. Some surgeries can still be helped with spinal decompression. The doctor will
determine if you are a candidate after an examination.
